How To Choose the Best Network Marketing Opportunities
Network marketing opportunities come a dime a dozen. The key to success is to find a
MLM company
and sponsor that support you as an independent business owner.
What Are Network Marketing Opportunities?
Simply put an MLM opportunity is a chance to join a company as an independent distributor. Usually, you pay a company like
Arbonne
or Melaleuca an annual fee, which buys you two main benefits. The first benefit you have as a distributor is similar to being a member of Sam’s club or BJ’s. You get a discount (in most cases) on everything that you buy from the company. This benefit allows you to earn a retail income, because you buy the product wholesale and sell it to your customer at retail price. The company membership fee also gives you the right to recruit business partners that also sell the company products. When one of your business partners sells something, they get a commission AND you also get a commission for that sale. These two benefits of membership in a MLM is the basis of network marketing opportunities.

What Makes Good Network Marketing Opportunities?
There really is no simple answer to this question. But there are a few things that you want to consider when choosing your
MLM business.
1. Is the company ethical?
One way to find out if the MLM company operates by a high set of standards is to see if it is a member of the Direct Selling Association.
If it is a member, you can be pretty sure that the company itself is not a scam and is a legitimate way to earn an income.
2. Is your upline sponsor ethical?
Just because the company operates with ethical standards, does NOT mean that the person bringing you into the business is just as ethical.
How will you know if they are on the up and up? One possible way to tell is how your sponsor brings you into the business. For instance, if they require you to purchase large amounts of product just to join their team, be wary.
This practice is called front-end loading and is illegal. When you join a company, it is a good idea to buy SOME product or services that you plan to use yourself. This is how you get first hand experience with what you are selling and is just good business sense. However you don’t want to end up, like me, with tons of product in your closet collecting dust.
3. Is the product/service something you believe in and would use yourself?
I’m not saying that you have to be crazy about the product or service, but you DO have to see the value in it. And the product SHOULD be something that you feel good about recommending to other people.
4. Is your sponsor successful?
This is a biggie and in my opinion one of the main reasons most people fail in network marketing opportunities.
The good thing about MLM is that we have the advantage of following in the footsteps of successful people. However, if your upline is struggling, what are the chances that you will see success without struggling too?
My advice? Choose your sponsor with the same amount of thought that you would choose a new job. Your
success in network marketing,
at least initially, will depend on it.
5. Does the company provide training on the product/service you will be selling?
Free training is even better. The last thing you want to do is to approach someone about the great new product you are selling, only to be stumped by the first question your prospect asks.
Good network marketing opportunities, will give you the tools and information you need to educate others on the unique features of the product or service.
6. Is your upline still using outdated marketing techniques to retail and recruit?
A major red flag in my opinion is a sponsor who encourages their downline to prospect friends and family and drag people to business meetings. These marketing strategies may have worked 20 years ago, but are not very effective today.
7. Will your sponsor encourage you to get training. from sources OUTSIDE of your network marketing company?
Some folks can be down right cult-like when it comes to their network marketing opportunities. They believe that their company is the beginning and the end of their success and encourage your to use all kinds of CRAZY marketing techniques.
Techniques like, approaching everyone within 3 feet of you. Or sending out hundreds of CDs to people who have no idea of who you are.
These marketing methods are flat out ineffective for most people and are not a good foundation to build your business on.
Not sure if the prospecting methods your upline is laying on you are GOOD or not?

8. Does your upline sponsor have an effective marketing system for you to follow?
Ultimately, the company that you join and the products that you sell are worthless, IF you don’t have a way to market your product and service.
