MLM Recruiting How And WHEN To Do It
Is MLM recruiting as important as our uplines will have us believe? Find out how to effectively recruit a strong organization and WHEN to focus your efforts on recruiting.
The Big Problem With MLM Recruiting?
Here is what normally happens when someone joins an MLM business opportunity. And I must admit that in my first attempts I was no different.
The Scenario
New business builder signs up and is told to make a list of 100 friends and family to begin prospecting. This person goes through the list and identifies two people who actually agree to sign up.
Now what happens?
These two new people go out and do the same thing with their list of 100 people. And maybe they find another two people to sign up.
But who IS BUYING THE PRODUCT?
Some Networkers say… “Well my downline is buying the product of course.”
But what happens when those two people you recruited into your business decide they are not making enough money and STOP? They stop building the business and they stop buying the product.
(Which they were only buying because they were involved in the business opportunity. Lets not pretend this situation doesn’t happen.)
All your income, as small as it most likely was, STOPS when your downline stops!
This isn’t what most of us signed on for when we decided to become entrepreneurs – Right?
We signed on to earn an income, NOT babysit an unproductive downline!
The solution to getting your downline to produce is to TEACH THEM!
Teach them what?
Teach them how to RETAIL your product or service to people who use it everyday.
In case you haven’t figured out where I’m going with this…
When Should We Focus On MLM Recruiting?
The simple answer is AFTER, you have learned how to effectively sell your product or service to END CUSTOMERS.
And you become a good salesman by getting good solid training in the art and science of marketing.
Yes. First your learn how to SELL your thing, and THEN you focus on teaching and training your new recruits to do the same.
One of the best ways that I have learned to market my MLM products is by using the methods taught by an internet marketing professional by the name of Perry Marshall.
Perry is a long time salesman who was tired of cold calling his leads day in and day out, so he created an online marketing system that he now teaches to thousands of small business owners everyday.
He demands a pretty penny for his services but you can learn from him for free by
requesting a copy of his Guerilla Marketing CD.
He'll send that to you free of charge, and you get to learn the basics of how to develop a strong marketing campaign that WON'T involve you approaching the stranger in the grocery store.
There are many great advantages to learning to retail before you recruit and you can learn about them

Bottom Line of MLM Recruiting
Recruiting new business builders is a necessary part of growing a large network marketing business. However it should never be your primary focus.
If you are already great at selling your product/service and are ready to focus on bringing in a team to help you sell, the first thing you need to learn is what NOT to do..
Why should you learn what NOT to do?
Because, unfortunately the MLM industry is a classic case of the blind leading the blind.
Our uplines mean well when they encourage us to drag our friends to opportunity meetings, BUT they are often times simply MISINFORMED about how to marketing a business.
